UsefulGarbage.com is a website owned and operated by Stone Link Inc Ltd.

Before using this website you should fully read and understand the terms and conditions which govern the use of this website. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions please do not use this website.

This website complies with English law and all visits to this website shall be governed by English law.

The UsefulGarbage.com website has been set up so that individuals, non-profit organisations, charities and businesses, can advertise items they wish to recycle for free via the Internet. YOU SHOULD ONLY CONTACT A PARTY ADVERTISING ON THIS WEBSITE IF YOU HAVE A GENUINE INTEREST IN OBTAINING THE ITEM BEING OFFERED. YOU SHOULD NOT CONTACT ANY PERSON FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE SUCH AS OFFERING YOUR OR ANY THIRD PARTY’S GOODS OR SERVICES OR OTHERWISE SEEKING TO SOLICIT BUSINESS IN ANY WAY.

By accessing or using the services, you agree to be legally bound by these terms, as they may be modified from time to time. We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. Amendments will take effect when posted on our website. However, the terms current as at the start of a particular transaction will apply until that transaction is completed.

Our Role

UsefulGarbage.com is a website that brings together individuals, non-profit organisations, charities and businesses to recycle items. We do not have and never intend to have any contractual involvement in any transactions and at no stage do we swap, buy or sell or purport to swap, buy or sell any of the products or services displayed on our site. Any disputes between the finder and dumper of the specific item are just that—we will not become involved. We provide you with the technological capability and security; however you must take the utmost care to screen the parties with whom you deal. We will not screen the parties or goods on your behalf and this is a feature of the relationship between you and us that you willingly accept.

Registration

You are required to register with us by completing the registration form on our registration page and submitting it to us. Only adults (i.e., those aged 18 and over) are entitled to enter into legally binding contracts and as a result are the only people entitled to use the services. Any other individuals who are unable to form legally binding contracts are also prohibited from using the services. If you do not qualify, please refrain from using the services. By registering you are making a statement, upon which we are entitled to rely, that you are aged 18 years or older and capable of forming a legally binding contract.

We reserve the right to refuse access to the services. Such decisions shall be within our sole discretion.

Information You Provide

You grant us a non-exclusive, world-wide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use any information, video, sound and pictures you provide to us or other users of our services, for example, during the registration and item listing process.

Such information shall be legal, decent, honest and truthful, shall not infringe any third party's rights, shall not contain any viruses or other malicious computer programming routines and shall not link to any other websites. Without limiting the above, all information you provide shall be accurate and complete and all registration details shall contain your correct name, email address and other requested details.

Security

You are solely responsible in all respects for all use of and for protecting the confidentiality of any password which may be given to you or selected by you for use on our site. You may not share these with or transfer them to any third parties. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorised use of them or any other breach of security regarding the services.

Any losses incurred or sustained by you in transmitting information shall be borne solely and exclusively by you and in no event shall any such losses in whole or in part be borne by us. If you are using a public computer, you must “sign out” of your account when you have finished.

Availability of Site

While we will use all reasonable endeavours to make our services and website available consistently, we cannot guarantee that they will operate continuously or without interruptions.

General Rules Governing Posting Your items

In relation to all items you list through our services:

  • You must be the absolute unencumbered legal owner with the right to advertise and subsequently dump the item on our website.
  • Your dumping of items on our website must not infringe any third party rights or be unlawful in any way. Prohibited items include guns, drugs and sexually explicit material.
  • You must list all of your items in the correct category, correct location with accurate and appropriate title, description, photos (optional) and provide such information as requested.

A Registered item Advert will Remain Listed on the Site Until:

  • You pre-maturely de-list it.
  • The item is fully transferred to the new owner and the dumper de-lists the advert. It is your responsibility to manage your item advert by logging into “my account” and de-listing it.
  • You dump items that infringe any third party rights or are unlawful in any way. Prohibited items include guns, drugs and sexually explicit material.

General Rules Governing Recycling Your Items

To use and rely on the services we provide all participants must understand their obligations to other users of our services.

If you, the finder makes an “offer to obtain” the item advertised and the offer is accepted by the dumper, you must complete the transaction.

Once offer is accepted, the finder and the dumper of the item are responsible for the exchange of the item at their own time and place. We do not have and never intend to have any contractual involvement in your transactions. Any disputes between the finder and dumper are just that—we will not become involved. We provide you with the technological capability and security; however you must take the utmost care to screen the parties with whom you deal. We will not screen the parties or goods on your behalf and this is a feature of the relationship between you and us that you willingly accept. Otherwise, we recommend a recorded delivery service is used for shipping small to medium sized items.

With regards to returns, please read our Returns Policy at the bottom of this page. Your acceptance of these terms and conditions entitles us to assume you have read this Returns Policy.

Privacy policy

We take privacy issues seriously. Our current privacy policy covers our use of any information you provide. In using our Services you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms of our Privacy Policy.

Termination

Stone Link Inc Ltd (”the operator”) has in its sole discretion the right to issue a warning, temporary suspension, or an indefinite suspension and termination of your rights to use the services of the UsefulGarbage.com website if you:

  • Act inconsistently and in breach of these terms and conditions;
  • At any time violate or attempt to violate any rights of any other user of the services or third party;
  • It comes to our attention that you are engaged in any fraudulent activity.

RETURNS POLICY

At no stage during any transaction does or will Stone Link Inc Limited (“the Operator”) become contractually involved. Should any of the items displayed on our site and subsequently exchanged via our site prove unsatisfactory, we cannot be held responsible in any way due to the absence of our contractual participation in the transaction.

We provide a forum for the transaction and do not purport, to the exchange, buy, sell, and swap any of the items listed on UsefulGarbage.com (“the Website”). We want every user of the Website to be certain of the conditions under which they deal, all the while feeling secure that the transaction they may enter into is valid and reliable.

We have devised the following Returns Policy by which all recyclers agree to abide. We must emphasise that under no circumstances will we accept the return of any items directly to us. Due to the absence of any contractual responsibility, the Operator is both unsuitable and unwilling to accept any items that any recycler wishes to return.

As the items have been exchanged and exchanged for FREE they may only be returned to the dumper if they prove to have been “extremely, extremely” materially and incorrectly described when listed. Otherwise there is no right to return the items. If it does so happen to be the case, the wisest option would be to re-list the item on the website and respond accordingly by rating and commenting on the dumper of the item.

Otherwise, we recommend a recorded delivery service is used for small to medium sized items being returned.
